LivePeek ("we", "our", "us") provides real-time visitor analytics for Shopify stores. This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

When a visitor browses a store that has LivePeek installed, we collect:

• Page activity: URLs visited, page titles, timestamps
• Cart activity: products added or removed, quantities, prices
• Checkout events: checkout started, steps completed, order completion
• Search queries: what visitors search for on the store
• Device information: browser type, device type (desktop/mobile/tablet), derived from the user agent string
• Session identifiers: a random session ID stored in a cookie to group page views into sessions
• IP address: used for geolocation (city, region, country) if enabled by the merchant. IP addresses are not stored long-term.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• Names, email addresses, or personal contact information
• Payment or credit card details
• Passwords or account credentials
• Personally identifiable information (PII) beyond IP-based geolocation

3. How We Use Data

We use the collected data solely to provide analytics to the store merchant:

• Display real-time visitor activity on the merchant's dashboard
• Generate aggregate statistics (page views, conversion rates, traffic sources)
• Show visitor session history and journey timelines
• Provide smart insights about store activity patterns

4. Data Storage and Retention

• Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on infrastructure controlled by the app developer.
• Tracking data is automatically purged after 90 days.
• When a merchant uninstalls LivePeek, all their store's data is permanently deleted.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share visitor data with any third parties. Data is only accessible to the merchant who installed the app on their store.

6. Cookies

LivePeek uses a single first-party cookie (_lp_sid) to maintain a consistent session identifier across page views. This cookie contains a random string and no personal information. It expires when the browser session ends.

7. GDPR and Privacy Compliance

LivePeek is designed to comply with GDPR and other privacy regulations:

• The web pixel respects Shopify's Customer Privacy API and cookie consent settings
• Analytics tracking only runs after the visitor has given consent (in regions where consent is required)
• We honor data deletion requests through Shopify's mandatory GDPR webhooks
• Merchants can remove the pixel at any time from the app's Setup page

8. Merchant Responsibilities

Merchants using LivePeek are responsible for disclosing the use of analytics tracking in their own store's privacy policy, as required by applicable laws.

9. Data Deletion Requests

To request deletion of your data, contact us at the email below. For Shopify-initiated data deletion requests, we process them automatically through Shopify's webhook system.
